Blog writing for businesses
As a freelance blog writer, I help businesses publish regular, engaging blogs that actually perform.
That’s right, your blog shouldn’t exist just to prove you’re “active” in case someone happens to stumble across it. It should be:
- Ranking on search engines
- Attracting new clients
- Engaging existing ones
- Supporting sales
From strategising what’s worth writing about to delivering posts that are well researched, genuinely useful and properly optimised, I make sure every piece earns its spot.
No fluff, no filler and certainly no writing for the sake of it. Just strategic, search-friendly blog content that sounds like you and does what it’s meant to.

Blog content writing FAQs
1. How much does blog writing cost in the UK?
How long is a piece of str….only kidding. While blog writing costs do vary depending on length, research requirements and the level of strategy involved, I’ve tried to keep things simple by offering three core blog writing packages:
- One-off blog: £300
- Monthly blog: £250 per month
- Bulk blogs (x10): £2,250
However, if you do need a different word count, additional services such as uploading, or something more bespoke, then we can tailor a package to suit you.
2. How long should a blog post be for SEO?
For most businesses, 800–1,200 words is a sensible range for an SEO-optimised blog. That said, length alone doesn’t make something rank (if only!)
The right word count depends on the topic, search intent and competition. I recommend the length based on what’s most likely to perform (and be read) — not just what looks impressive.
3. How often should a business publish blog content?
You’ll often hear me say that consistency matters more than volume.
For many businesses, one well-planned, properly optimised blog per month is enough to build steady momentum. If your budget allows for more, fantastic, but strategy always comes first (well, second if coffee is involved).
4. Do blog posts really help with SEO?
Yes, when written strategically and as part of a longer-term plan.
A well-optimised blog can improve search visibility, target long-tail keywords, build authority in your niche and drive relevant traffic to your website over time. The key is thinking beyond “we should probably post something”.
5. Do you provide keyword research as part of your blog writing service?
Yes. Every blog includes keyword research and search intent analysis to ensure the topic has genuine potential, not just good intentions.
6. Can you upload and format the blog in WordPress?
Yes. I can upload and format your blogs in WordPress (and other CMS platforms) if you’d prefer a fully hands-off, let me think about more important things, approach. This is available as an optional add-on.
7. How long does it take to write a blog post?
Turnaround is typically 5–10 working days for a single blog. Timelines for monthly or bundle packages are agreed in advance.
If you need something sooner, get in touch, I’ll always be honest about what’s realistic and try to perform miracles where I can.
8. What’s your onboarding process?
Every new client starts with an introductory call where I’ll ask a lot of questions about your business, customers, goals and competitors. Think of it as a first date — just without the awkward small talk or you having to listen to me talk about country music.
I’ll combine what I’ve learned with my own research and suggest a clear plan, including potential blog titles and angles. Once you’re happy, I’ll get to work and send a first draft for feedback. After revisions, you’ll receive the final version, ready to publish.
Why work with me?
Because I’m bloody good at what I do (and honest, too!)
As an experienced blog content writer, I understand search intent, user psychology, brand voice and commercial goals. More importantly, I know how to bring them together into one purposeful, compelling piece of content. The kind that lands on your website and makes someone pause, read on, smile and click. That’s my “why”.
I don’t churn out content for the sake of it. I look at what your business is trying to achieve, who you’re trying to reach, and what will genuinely work — and then I write.
Could you write your own blogs? Probably. Can AI write your blogs? Absolutely. But you could probably cut your own hair and get AI to write your wedding vows, too. Sometimes, it’s better to call in someone who does this every day. Someone who can inject personality into your words. And, someone who genuinely loves doing it.
That’s why.
